Hey everyone! Hurricane Milton didn’t physically damage my apartment, but there was some minor water damage and fallen trees wrecked cars nearby. I live in Lutz, north of the wall, and we got hit with strong winds and heavy rain. The hurricane knocked down power poles and lines, leaving me without power for nearly 24 hours—but hey, I’m not complaining. I’m grateful WREC got our power back so fast. Honestly, I wasn’t prepared for this storm at all. Mentally, it was a nightmare for me. The howling wind in the darkness with no power was terrifying. I’ve lived in Florida my whole life, and this was the worst mental ordeal I’ve ever faced. Even worse than when I lost my step-dad during a previous storm in the early 2000s. The wind sounded like it could tear the roof off. Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t even log into work (a whole other story). I’m just relieved the storm’s over and hoping and praying everyone can fully recover from this awful experience. Good luck to all! Let’s stay strong together! #FloridaStrong, #HarrisWalz2024.
Thanks Everyone!
