Happy April (V.2)

Happy April (V.2)

Can you believe how quickly this year is flying by? Sometimes it feels like time speeds up, whether you’re having fun or not! I’ve had my share of enjoyable moments—and a few not-so-great ones, if I’m being honest.

As some of you know, I started a new job back in January, and for the most part, it’s been a positive experience. The company itself is fantastic, but my onboarding supervisor has been quite a challenge. He’s not exactly the friendliest person, and I can’t quite figure out why he seems to have it out for me. Aside from a simple coding mistake on my timesheet—which didn’t result in any extra pay, just an honest error—I haven’t done anything wrong. Unfortunately, this company is pretty strict about timesheet mistakes, so I’ve had to get HR involved. Next, I’ll be speaking with his manager, and I’m determined to stand up for myself. I refuse to let one person ruin my experience here, even if some of the leadership has been less than pleasant.

On top of that, I was reprimanded for attending a doctor’s appointment that was scheduled before I even started the job. It was an important visit—I needed to get fitted for hearing aids due to hearing loss. That experience left me feeling singled out and even a bit discriminated against. I’m doing my best to stay positive, and honestly, I’ll just pray for my supervisor. Clearly, he could use it.

On a brighter note, I did get those hearing aids recently, and they’ve made a huge difference—not only with my hearing but also with the ringing in my ears. I’m grateful for the great benefits that helped cover the cost.

As for my personal life, I’m still single and not actively looking, but I wouldn’t mind meeting someone special. Turning 50 this year has me reflecting a bit—it does seem harder to meet people these days! Maybe it’s because I don’t drink anymore (I haven’t had a drink since around 2022, before I moved to Lutz). Ozempic has helped me quit, and while I sometimes miss it, I’m glad to be healthier now. There’s someone I’m interested in, but he’s taken, so that’s off the table. Sometimes I worry about being alone, but I try not to dwell on those darker thoughts.

On a fun note, I finally got myself a life-size Grogu (or Baby Yoda, as many call him)! He arrived today, and I couldn’t resist posting some pictures on Facebook. I’ll share a few here as well—he’s absolutely adorable, and I’ve wanted one for ages.

That’s all for now. Thanks to the one or two of you who actually read my blog—I appreciate you!

Take care,
Jackamus

Thanks Jackamus!
